In this time-bending, sexy, lesbian romp–loosely inspired by the art house classic “Run, Lola, Run”– a talented, but distracted photographer, Lola, on the verge of success in both love and work, could lose it all if she doesn’t make it to acrucial meeting on time. But, as usual, Lola is late. With her job and girlfriend on the line, she has three chances to make it right. In a desperate race through the streets and backrooms of San Francisco, time grows short–will Lola make it? Will she come at all?
Co-Directors Ellen Seidler and Megan Siler bring a pop sensibility that mixes live action, animation and still photography to the film. “And Then Came Lola”, explores love’s age old question in a fresh, new way; “If you try, try again, will you finally get it right?”
The world premiere for And Then Came Lola took place on Friday, June 19th at a sold-out Castro Theater in San Francisco as part of the 33rd Frameline LGBT Film Festival. In July LOLA screened at Philadelphia’s QFest and OUTFEST in Los Angeles. Lola star and North Carolina native Ashleigh Sumner was on hand in Durham for the film’s screening at the North Carolina Lesbian & Gay Film Festival in August.
And Then Came Lola will screen at festivals throughout the U.S. and internationally throughout the fall and spring. September screenings will be held in Northampton, Memphis, Fresno, and Oslo, Norway. In October the film makes its way to Perth, Australia, Rochester, Washington DC, Tampa, Seattle, Montreal and more…for an updated schedule of festivals and screenings go here: Upcoming AND THEN CAME LOLA screenings.
